2.6. Supersonic Flow over a Forward-facing Step

This tutorial illustrates the setup and solution of a two-dimensional compressible flow supersonic problem. This tutorial demonstrates how to do the following:

  • Generate the mesh using the built-in tool.

  • Set numerical control parameters.

  • Enable the second-order discretization scheme for improved predictions.

  • Set gas properties, initial conditions and boundary conditions.

  • Set physical model for a supersonic problem.

  • Set output parameters for a 2D compressible flow supersonic problem.

  • Generate and check the GASFLOW input file, ingf.

  • Plot the calculation results by ParaView.

1) GASFLOW input file

Note: Please manually create two folders named "input" and "output" in the directory where the .gsv file resides. The "input" and "output" folders will be automatically generated only when initiating a new project in GASVIEW.
